This paper examines the issues involved in adapting musical works for the medium of television. The activities of Glenn Gould, Pierre Mercure and Igor Stravinsky will be explored from three distinct perspectives: the adaptation of concert works for television, the creation of musical works specifically conceived for television, and the archival aspect concerning the broadcast of these works after their creation. In conclusion, it will be emphasized that the television scene can be presented under different natures, such as “cinematic,” “acoustic,” or “archival.”
