If digital technologies profoundly changed the cultural and creative industries, they impacted the performing arts sector later on because of its intrinsic characteristics. Their development accelerated under the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic, forcing structures to digitally transform to keep the link with their audience(s). Following this period of crisis, many strategic and operational questions remain. This research proposes a systematic literature review to establish the current state of research on the digitalization of the performing arts sector and to highlight the main research avenues to be exploited.
